Round 1: The Engine Setup
Your goal in Round 1 is to establish your Relict engines and set up your graveyard for the later rounds.
Start by playing Operator on one of your key bronze Relicts (usually a Selfeater or Lesser Witch). Use your Carapace leader charges to protect your most important engines from early removal. If you have Necromancer's Tome, get it on the board to start generating passive points and reviving your bronzes. Use Fisher King to secure an important card on top of your deck for the next round. Try to win Round 1 to secure round control, but don't overcommit your Golden Nekker just yet.
Round 2: The Bleed & Graveyard Abuse
If you won Round 1, this deck excels at pushing and bleeding in Round 2.
This is where the Incubus combo shines. Play Incubus to resurrect the bronze Relict from your graveyard. Because you gave your opponent a copy of it in Round 1 with the Operator, Incubus will summon that unit for them (which is often a low-tempo play for their side), while you get another powerful engine on your side of the board! Keep applying pressure with your Crones (Weavess, Whispess, Brewess) and the Unicorn + Chironex combo.
Round 3: The Golden Nekker Finisher
If the game goes to a short Round 3, you are in an incredibly strong position.
This is the time to drop Golden Nekker. It will pull a unit, an artifact (like Necromancer's Tome or The Last Wish), and a special card (like Royal Decree or Necromancy) all in one turn, creating a massive, game-winning point slam that is almost impossible to counter. Finish off any remaining threats with Lord Riptide.
