Classic handbuff has been in a weird place for a while. There is not great many 10 provision or higher cards that fit into it, unless you go full control with Heatwave etc. That cripples your Farseer potential however, so going Renfri despite all the nerfs remains the most viable approach.
Another weakness is R1 tempo especially when coming up against Mobilization and some other engine heavy decks, and Roach + Knickers really help with being able to remain within that 1 card's reach.
After many iterations, including one with Sunset Wanderers and Matta, this proved to be the best version yet because of valuable control options. Nowadays, Xavier demands response, and some extra points and flexibility with Aguara is the way to go, as opposed to going with Squirell, 6p lock and something like useless Bedlam.
Decent knowledge of opposition deck is required on when to bleed or pass. When against devotion decks, the general rule is to push and not care about last say too much.
Not having either Skaggs or Aglais in hand in R1 is not great, but not a dealbreaker. It's worse to not have Farseer, so try to get it with Triss at least. If Renfri is in your hand R1 and opponent starts slamming engines, do not be afraid to jam Renfri and go for cooldown 8 on your second turn. This will give you 3 ults. 99% of the time aim for Farseer first turn.

I am on the brink of 2500 right now amd it feels like I could do some more dmg.
