Some matchups may require a different approach, but the overall game plan remains similar. Mulligan You do not want these cards in your hand (keep them in your deck): • Flying Redanianone of Sewer RaidersSly Seductress and one of Passiflora Peaches (you want these two available for Madam Marquise) • King of Beggars Round 1 Thin & Pass Your main goal is to do some deck thinning, get a few coins for carryover, and pass early, giving up Round 1. Ideally, you want to enter Round 2 with 8–9 cards (pass with 5-6 cards), even if you have the same number of cards as your opponent. Having card advantage is obviously even better. Try to: • Get Flying Redanian (end turn with 9 coins) out of the deck. It will come back in later rounds from the graveyard. • Play Sewer Raiders for thinning. • Generate some coins for carryover with Tax Collector and Roderick. You should save Madam Marquise and your big cards for Round 2. Once again, don't be afraid to lose Round 1 quickly. The important thing is setting up your Round 2 and Round 3. Round 2 Carryover & Madam Start by playing Conjurer's Candle and Novigrad, building up your carryover. If your opponent decides to push, respond quickly with Madam Marquise. You should usually be able to win the round comfortably while going card-for-card. Don't be afraid to spend enough Tributes to pull King of Beggars from your deck. He shouldn't be needed in the third round. Round 3 Yago Finish You want Captain Yago in your hand for the final round. However, be careful not to brick during mulligan (especially if, for example, you still have King of Beggars in your deck). Remember that you may be able to find him through Vivaldi Bank instead. The general idea is to play the round while saving your coins for the final sequence. Of course, you will spend some coins along the way, but don't waste every coin too early on cards such as Whoreson's Freak Show. You want to have all 9 coins for your Yago Finish. Before playing your final card, you should have an engine capable of spending coins for the final sequence. Ideally, you will have Conjurer's Candle from Round 2. 1.Spend 9 coins (probably with Conjurer's Candle). 2.Use Jackpot (your leader ability). 3.Spend the coins generated again. 4.Play Captain Yago. 5.Spend the remaining coins for even more value. The goal is to maximize the number of times you convert your coins into points in the final turn. Other Cards The remaining cards are more situational: • Whoreson Junior is mainly there to remove opposing threats. • Your Poison package can be used to remove a big enemy unit. • Salamandra Lackey can purify an important engine that you rely on to spend or generate coins. Always adapt your sequencing depending on the matchup and what your opponent is playing. The deck is not easy to pilot, and coin management and sequencing are extremely important. But once you get comfortable with the calculations and the Round 2/3 setup, the deck has Tier 1 potential.
