Hello everyone! I’m back with a new (forgotten old) interesting archetype — Northern Magic.
To be honest, I didn’t want to publish this deck until I had played at least 25 games with it in Pro Rank. However, the huge win streak I achieved, and win against streamer on live stream, convinced me that people have forgotten how to play against Mages and don’t really know how to deal with them anymore.
With this deck, you will be able to keep tempo throughout the entire game, and almost every single play you make will bring value.
How to play
Round 1
Start by building up points with Aretuza Adept and Bonhart’s Adept.
IMPORTANT: The best way to open the game is with Assault or Runeword.
Assault immediately adds points and makes your unit harder to remove, while Runeword gives a Shield that is difficult to break without proper damage distribution.
---
Round 2
Start the round with Raffard’s Vengeance, then immediately use your leader ability.
After that, continue doing what this deck does best: play your Cintrian spellweaver and damage enemy units to activate Dark Magic, creating Kaedweni Revenants, which generate amazing tempo together with your spellweaver
IMPORTANT POINT:
Play Roche only in two situations:
1. Your opponent starts heavily out-tempoing you and you cannot catch up.
2. You already have a Spellweaver or Alumn
i on your board that can benefit greatly from the spells you may roll.
Tip:
If you see that even with Roche you still cannot catch up (especially in Round 2), don’t be afraid to use Amnesty to turn the game around. Otherwise, it might be too late in Round 3.
---
Round 3
Even if your opponent has used a lot of control, always check with assault whether they still have answers.
Only after that, play Keira Metz.
If your opponent has no removal left, they won’t be able to answer this card. Combined with your accumulated engines, this usually leaves them with almost no chance.
You can see a real example of this deck in action on the latest MetallicDanny stream, from around 37 to 48 minutes.

Thank's for the support and for watching my guide! Always stay on the right side and never play nilfgard!
