I've been running some variation of the Scottish Metabreaker as my main deck since 2021 ; here's what I've settled on. Despite being mainly an Alchemy deck, this deck holds no Dimeritium Shackles, or any other means to lock units. As of writing this guide, there is one unused provision to the deck. Any 4-prov Alchemy card could be replaced by Dimeritium Shackles. Cursed Scroll was preferred to Mask of Uroboros for consistency, and because Mask of Uroboros's Crows cannot be used by Axel Three-Eyes. First hand : You should not use Freya's Blessing in the 1st round, shuffle it back. You do not want Geralt: Quen to get bricked, which is why this deck holds 2 Bear Witchers. Do not keep them in your hand, especially not both of them. Shuffle one Crow Messenger back if you get both ; you may shuffle all of them if you have Axel Three-Eyes and a source of Crows (In Gedyneith's Shadow, Crowmother, Crow's-eye Rhizome) Shuffle Selective Mutation back if you already have Geralt: Quen, especially if you do not have Snowdrop. You can shuffle Crow Clan Preacher back if you do not have In Gedyneith's Shadow. Bride of the Sea and Gremist are best played in later rounds. You would like at least one mean of control (Korathi Heatwave, Gigascorpion Decoction, Trial of the Grasses) + Ermion Remember that Crow Messenger requires an Alchemy card in your hand in order to summon the other one(s) from your deck ! Good cards to play in the first turn : Crowmother, Axel Three-Eyes, a source of Crows (In Gedyneith's Shadow, Crowmother, Crow's-eye Rhizome) Round 1 : Our main goal is to get two more Crow Messengers through Axel Three-Eyes. The deck has three cards that allow that synergy : In Gedyneith's Shadow (1st Druid played spawns a Crow's-eye Rhizome), Crowmother, Crow's-eye Rhizome. Several cards of this deck need to be played on the Ranged row (Gremist, Heymaey Skald), including Axel Three-Eyes in order to get the Crow Messengers. Play your Crowmother or your Crow's-eye Rhizome on the Ranged row as we need their Crows there, but play In Gedyneith's Shadow on the Melee row to limit board clog on the critical Ranged row. If you're lucky enough to get the blue coin, remember that Cursed Scroll synergizes with Snowdrop. (Your humble servant writing these lines is a French-speaker, and the French translation of Cursed Scroll's description does not use "Tirez" (Draw) in its text.) Typical opener : In Gedyneith's Shadow or Crow Messenger, then Snowdrop or Birna Bran. Discarding priority : Morkvarg > Tuirseach Skirmisher > Crowmother except if it's your only source of crows and you have Axel Three-Eyes > Selective mutation if you already have Geralt: Quen > Crow Messenger > Anything else (The first card you pick to discard will be the last one to respawn to the right of the Melee row) You can protect the Crow Clan Preacher generated by In Gedyneith's Shadow using your ability's Mardroeme if you're afraid of control through damage and you also have Crow Clan Preacher in your hand, otherwise not worth it. From Turn 6, you can play Geralt: Quen to get a Shielded Bear Witcher -> 13 points play. Best use of your ability is typically a late Mardroeme on your shielded Geralt: Quen for 9 points ; as Trial of the Grasses does not remove his Shield, you could get him to 22 points. Trial of the Grasses is a less reliable control card than Gigascorpion Decoction, but it can also be used against superstrong enemies to put them "only" at 13 strength or to buff your Witchers (11 points play on a Witcher Student, 12 points on Geralt: Quen). Round 2 : You can maybe play one Crow Messenger for 16 points right now. If they are all in your Graveyard or deck, open with Freya's Blessing (Remember that Crow Messenger requires an Alchemy card in your hand in order to summon the other one(s) from your deck !) for 20 points (4 Crow Messengers + Crowmother) before your opponent's Xavier Lemmens (Remove that fucker out of the battlefield or pass quickly) banishes them all. Best case scenario, you can use Gremist to purify the Doomed one. Round 3 : Bride of the Sea can be used with Geralt : Quen in order to use a previously used Mardroeme on his Shield. You can also use it after Fulmar or Tears of Siren, in order to recast Freya's Blessing (usually a 16 points play, 20 if you purified your Doomed Crow Messenger) Other play after Fulmar : Recast Tears of Siren, then use Fulmar's Order to turn those Rain turns into Storm turns.
