Introduction
It’s a powerful and flexible Tier 1 deck built around Organic cards with Kikimore Warrior using Arachas Swarm ability to continuously boost your board while controlling the opponent's. Thanks to a large number of spawning effects, Yennefer: Illusionist provides excellent value throughout the game, allowing the deck to snowball surprisingly hard while maintaining strong control tools.
The deck is capable of winning both long engine rounds and shorter value-oriented rounds, making it a reliable ladder choice.
Strengths
• Powerful Organic engine package.
• Excellent synergy with Kikimore Warrior.
• Strong control tools and removal options.
• Flexible gameplan that works in both long and short rounds.
• Multiple carryover opportunities.
• Very strong consistency.
Weaknesses
• Does not run graveyard control such as Xavier Lemmens or Squirrel.
• In order to use Organic cards we don’t have extremely popular meta control tools like Korathi Heatwave.
• Several low-provision Organic cards can become situational bricks in certain matchups.
General Gameplan
The core idea of the deck is simple: generate value through Organic cards, repeatedly trigger Kikimore Warrior, and use your removal package to prevent the opponent from establishing their own gameplan.
Because the deck creates a large number of units, Yennefer: Illusionist can generate tremendous value when supported properly.
The deck also benefits from running many low-cost Organic cards. While some of them are matchup-dependent, they provide flexibility during mulligans and help maintain constant access to Organic triggers throughout the game.
Important Things to Remember
Hive Mind Carryover
One of the most important mechanics in the deck is Hive Mind.
Its creation effects can carry over into the next round as long as the card remains in your graveyard. Properly timing Hive Mind can significantly increase your pressure in later rounds and sometimes enables devastating Round 2 pushes.
Mulligan Priorities
Before the game starts, always think about your Mammuna setup.
To use her maximum value you need one copy of Fiend or Griffin in your graveyard and the other copy should remain in your deck.
Also remember:
• Avoid holding both Wild Hunt Riders whenever possible.
• Consider your matchup when evaluating cards like Spores or Bleeding Effigy, as their value can vary dramatically.
Matchup Tools
Epidemic can completely dominate some matchups by destroying key 4-power units, while being nearly useless in others.
Many of the deck's low-provision Organic cards serve a similar purpose: they provide flexibility and allow you to adapt your mulligans based on what you are facing.
Wolfsbane is our cheaper Korathi Heatwave, to increase Organic synergy and to provide additional provisions elsewhere.
Remember that Bloody Mistress can be used to boost Bleeding Effigy, creating additional value in the right situations.
Round Strategy
Round 1
Your primary engine is Kikimore Warrior supported by the Drones generated through your Organic cards.
You also have access to a significant amount of removal, so do not be afraid to use it aggressively.
The goal is to establish your setup while preventing your opponent from developing theirs.
If your opponent starts committing valuable engines, consider passing early to preserve card advantage for later rounds, especially on Blue Coin.
Don’t forget to play either Fiend or Griffin during this round to prepare your Mammuna setup and to use Wild Hunt Rider to not brick later.
PRO TIP:
If you are on Red Coin and the round is approaching its end while you are ahead (see the attached image), consider playing Hive Mind before passing.
If you win the round on even cards with Hive Mind already established, you can create enormous pressure in Round 2 and potentially threaten a 2-0.
Round 2
Generally, you want to continue developing your Kikimore Warrior engine with Organic package through Hive Mind and pressure enemy with Yennefer: Illusionist.
Your ideal outcome is either:
• A successful bleed into a short Round 3.
• A direct 2-0 if your opponent refuses to commit important resources.
Important:
If you won Round 1 while already down a card, be careful not to force yourself into a Round 3 where you remain at a card disadvantage. Sometimes drypass is a correct play.
PRO TIP:
If your opponent passes early and you still have eight cards in hand, you can often play Hive Mind and then immediately pass. This allows you to begin Round 3 with Hive Mind already active and generating value from the start.
Short Round 3
This is where Mammuna becomes one of your strongest tools. A typical short round revolves around Mammuna and remaining high-value cards, maybe Bloody Mistress or some removal which wasn’t spend earlier, like Lord Riptide.
Long Round 3
Play similarly to Round 1, but with full commitment.
Your objective is to overwhelm the opponent through:
• Kikimore Warrior engines.
• Continuous Organic triggers.
• Constant removal pressure.
The combination of swarm generation and control should eventually outvalue most opponents.
PRO TIP:
If you do not have access to Hive Mind and Kikimore Warrior, but still have a Kikimore Warrior available in both your graveyard and deck, consider using Mammuna to establish an engine instead of using it purely as a Fiend or Griffin finisher. In some situations, creating a functioning engine is worth more than the raw points.
Final Thoughts
This deck (according to me ☺️) earns its Tier 1 status through flexibility, consistency, and the ability to pressure opponents in multiple ways. It can comfortably play for long rounds through Organic engines, threaten 2-0s through Hive Mind carryover, and still retain enough raw value to dominate shorter rounds.
The only notable omission is graveyard engines hate. The deck does not run Xavier Lemmens or Squirrel, which can occasionally be felt in certain matchups. Depending on the meta, replacing a card to gain access to graveyard control is a perfectly reasonable adjustment.
Have fun!
