If you are tired of losing to Reaver Hunters or Guerilla witchers this deck is for you. Deck shines against engines and performs especially well in round 3. However you need to be patient, the core is to answer your opponent's plays and punish their mistakes. Why does it work: you shut down every threat while trading up high proactive points allow you to win against other control decks Round 1: Don't lose on even Your goal is to mulligan every gold card apart from Calveit, Helga and Ciri, so you can play round 1 for as long as you can. Play Calveit, buhurt to setup Ciri, clog your opponent. If you are on the coin then you may even start with a knight to get some lead and pass on the first opportunity. I recommend lamp because you have a lot of buffs but a few creatures and boosting Calveit above 9 strength often results in losing on even. Round 2: Defend yourself If you do not have to, then do not play diplomacy round 1. It helps you to pass without having to use your other creatures. Try to scare them off using Helge, they will most likely have an answer to that card anyway. Ardal is a great card that can help you to turn the tide and gain a lead in points, giving you card advantage. Sometimes Damien can force a pass if your opponent goes too deep. Round 3: Just counter every major threat, this is what this deck is about Start with Helga, then Usurper, play Ciri with buhurt, buff her with a knight (enormous proactive points) and then just answer your opponent's threats. You can use your other knight to setup your leader or just buff a unit you are going to reset with Ardal/kill with Bonhart anyway. Deck idea: change Lydia for Vivienne. Lydia gives your proactivity or a spell to have another answer but if you feel that you are doing alright without her then go for Vivienne. She can surprise unwary opponents. For example: Savolla's Frightener costs 0 provisions, she can reduce your opponents Sea Jackal strength to 4 or just buff Skellen for 9. Pros: control flexibility Ardal aep Dahy, the duke himself Cons: you may lose on even weak vs point slam e.g. devour monsters takes time to master playing round 1 and 2 well
