Deck Concept This trap-focused deck demands precise timing and placement, making it less suitable for beginners. It excels against control-heavy NG or SK decks, which often have no units to target and struggle with traps. Thinning: Iorveth's Gambit plays two traps from deck. Riordain fetches an Elf + Trap. Call of the Forest grabs any card. Aelirenn offers thinning and tempo. Points: Elven Deadeyes generate most of our points. Deception is best for spawning them. Other sources: Vrihedd Saboteur, Archer, Stratagem, and Leader — each worth 4 points thanks to Angus. Control: Not a strong control deck, but Backup Plan, Serpent Trap (vs. solo units), and Archer help deal with engines. Utility: Vrihedd Sapper is our only Purify — save for Ciri or Dwarves. Ciaran locks key units (or allies like False Ciri/Kraken). Game Plan R1 Play Sticky Situation early — it loses value in later rounds. Use Gambit to fetch it if needed. Winning R1 is crucial since we’re easy to bleed. Tip: With Gambit, play Incinerating Trap (melee) first, then Sticky Situation (ranged) to improve activation odds. Red coin: open with Sticky Situation + Deception. Otherwise, spawn 5 Elves to trigger Aelirenn. Iorveth into Deception lets us reuse it for more points later. Know when to tempo pass is crucial to win R1 — Sticky Situation often puts you far ahead. Time passes with Deception and Crushing Trap carefully. R2 / R3 Push for a 2-0 win. The ideal round is medium to long (5–8 cards) with as many traps played as possible. Avoid short rounds — we’re weak there. Eldain can convert traps into Deadeyes — it is often a 25+ point finisher. Possible Replacements Ciaran → Morenn (an alternative lock with some damage potential) Commando → Neophyte (helps trigger Aelirenn earlier) Riordain → Feign Death (provides much more tempo at the cost of reduced thinning)
